Find the hero within yourself

A one-time investment that helps develop your career and image.

Sports Heroes

My name is Bozhidar Kartunov – an experienced sports journalist and a passionate sports marketing professional. After 17 years in sports journalism and covering the Rio 2016 Olympics I decided to change the course in order to help young athletes prepare for professional sport.
Nowadays, the demands placed on athletes are becoming greater and with it the pressure on them is also increasing. Any mistake can have a major impact on an athlete's career. The Sports Heroes course provides the basics needed for young athletes to know how to build their image and why it is important; how to manage their accounts on social media; how to behave. It's a one-time investment that pays off many times over. And could even prevent from career-threatening mistakes.

The course

This is an online course that consists of three 45-minute lectures. The main goal is to prepare young athletes for the professional sport.
Lecture 1: Basics ot sports: what is the role of the athlete in modern sport; image building and why it is important; supporter/media and sponsor relations
Lecture 2: Social media presence – opportunities and dangers
Lecture 3: Conduct on and off the field

Feedback

Sports Heroes provides a stable and valuable human foundation for young athletes. I’m happy that we started this programme at Levski Sofia Volleyball Club. I believe that what is learned will help our young athletes prepare for the challenges that any professional athlete faces.

We often say that the first seven years are crucial for a person’s upbringing and for it’s values. The early years in sport are also critical to the development of valuable athletes and individuals. That is why I hope that as many young athletes as possible will go through such training.

It is of essential importance that Bozhidar Kurtunov and I have the same thinking on these important issues – how to contribute to the building and education of quality, young people. Even if some of our young athletes do not choose the path of a professional athlete, the lessons learned would be useful in any other area of life.
